The 2016 Wild Hog Weekend marked the return of the marathon to Grand Forks, the birthplace of 26.2-mile races in North Dakota.
After more than 3 decades, the Grand Forks Wild Hog Marathon brought the classic distance back to town while continuing to offer all of the great races we’ve featured since 2012: half marathon, 10K, 5K, kid’s races and relays.
Stay tuned as we’ll soon announce details for the 2017 Wild Hog Weekend, where we will once again provide runners the best race experience possible: flat and scenic courses, high-quality swag, a terrific expo and unforgettable post-race festivities. We go the distance to offer you a memorable running weekend, whether you call the Greater Grand Forks community home year round or travel to join us.
In 1972, Grand Forks offered the first marathon in North Dakota and hosted the race for 13 years. Those dedicated race organizers were on to something, and we’ve fine tuned the race experience for those who know there’s no better time than early autumn to run in the Red River Valley.
